| Hi all I've spent the last few days rooting around in the mods that bukkit has for the last two days trying to fine anti greifing mods that works. These are the highlights that I thought would be the coolest mods to add:
Skylands: Add a whole new dimension to the world. This dimension was actually created by notch and is now being unlocked by this mod... There are two mods that allow you to do this so we would have to add only one of the two mods. I am on the edge with both of these mods and I'm not sure which one I want. - Dreamlands:
The first mod sends you to the skylands only when you go to sleep (and I believe that this is random and not 100%) Here is the link If you want to learn more: http://forums.bukkit.org/threads/misc-dreamland-v1-7-skylands-are-in-your-dreams-permissions-953.24188
- Simple Skylands:
This mod allows you to go to the skylands using chat commands http://forums.bukkit.org/threads/tp-fun-simpleskylands-v2-0-tap-into-the-vast-skylands-world-953.21462/
Stargates/Warpgates. Was hesitant about this mod at first but after you watch the video you'll understand... great mod.. allows you to travel over long distances using stargates... you have to build them out of obsidian and believe me they take allot of obsidian but it's worth it! Allows you to travel over long distances quickly. Watch the video and you'll understand! http://forums.bukkit.org/threads/tp-wormhole-x-treme-multi-world-capable-stargates-v0-907-953.23973/

| Wormholes take a lot of obsidian as it is and I think that being able to travel shouldn't be limited to physically huffing it from place to place... I think that if you want to go from new burlington to indium or MCG (no one goes ther bc it's so far away) I think it should be shorter
I'm going to build one anyways even if we don't add the mod

| Yes but allowing the construction of portals like that means that rails are obsolete, Nether transport is obsolete and air is obsolete. In my opinion it takes away a lot more then it adds.

| None of these things become obsolete in my mind... (Though a trial period could be nice to test this and I would be content if it did remove these other fourms of transport to have it removed) Nether: you still have to go there to get netherack and glowstone, and soul sand, also traveling to really far off places that haven't been descovered yet has to happen either on foot or through the nether. Even though the nether is a valid travel method I rarely use it because I choose to travel by other methods aka ships
If this mod was added I don't see it as making them obsolete but more so as creating an alternative method of traveling...
You can't send chests though gates but traveling via movecraft you can travel with entire crafts filled with items... It all depends on diffrent peoples prefrences... I would continue to use all forms of transport even if this mod was added...
Please vote for it! (or at lease a trial period)

| I think waiting for the update on skylands is also good.
I think the portals and wormholes would be useful. They are used on some of the multiplayer servers i have played on. What they are used for is travelling to other towns or maybe large landmarks far off from everything else. Every portal would end up being connected to a central hub somewhere. It's just more convenient to travel to other towns instantly. So i say yes to that, at least test it and see how it works out.

| I agree with the whole waiting on skylands thing, I have mixed feelings about the whole portal thing though, it does seem like it may take away the necesesity of tracks, but what if we had a limit on only admins being allowed to make them or something and kept them one to a town? cause if we just don't all have them we will still have a purpose for the tracks.

| I agree with Devon about having only one to a town though as long as you use the irus with password only you would be able to use that perticular portal... remember that each portal requires 18 to 20 obsidian to build so it would require alot of work as it is to build one. You can make a limit on how many a certain person can build you could make it set to one except for the mods who build the ones per town... having a stargate to a buried secret room that only you have the password for could be really cool.
Just a thought
