Minecraft Update and Server Makeover - 5/31/2011, 7:35 PM
Hi Everybody,
It's been a while since I last updated the website. Currently I and the rest of the server community have been dealing with the aftermath of Notch's rough update to 1.6.5. The update obliterated all of our mods and eliminated all of the planes that had been constructed to date. Since then, we have been debating whether or not to reinstall the mods. Currently it's looking like we won't be reinstalling the planes mod, but instead installing Bukkit for the use of many different mods which do not require client side mods. Therefore, nobody (except for me) will have to worry about mod installation or maintenance. Also, I have strongly been considering uninstalling the Ubuntu Linux desktop version which Fred has been running since day one for a server specific Linux version. This would have a number of advantages from my perspective, and I will be continuing to contemplate it over the next week or so. Feel free to email me or Facebook me with your thoughts or ideas.
Until the Bukkit development team releases a new build which is fully compatible with Minecraft 1.6.5, we will be running with no mods, so I'm afraid at least for the time being we will have to do without. I promise I will get to work on Bukkit as soon as the build is released.

Mine on!

Okay but there WAS a vote for installing Bukkit and it was in favor. Also I reserve the right to install administrative mods at any time (i.e. chat controls, spawn controls, console/command utils, etc).

I just would like to say I would prefer if there were polls before mods are added. Not everyone would enjoy certain mods being added without community input except from a few individuals. Mods are fine if the majority wants them, and I think that is they way they would usually vote, but I would rather not have mods installed with no warning. This is the way it has usually worked in the past, and I would like this to continue.

I think you mean compatible with 1.6.6 not 1.6.5
